Turin - Piemonte Region
Italy´s Best-Kept Secret

Fantastic food and wine, hills covered in vineyards, fascinating history and quaint medieval towns. No, we are not talking about Tuscany, we are talking about Piemonte. This Italian region offers everything its southern sister has, only without the crowds and with snowy peaks in the background. If you are into slow travel or if you are a foodie/wine lover, this is definitely your place, equally, if you are not into battling tourists, Piemonte is your cup of tea (or your glass of wine).

Make the elegant city of Turin your home and get to see it from a local´s point of view. Discover the Serra Morenica on a stunning horseback ride, go truffle hunting with a local expert, visit the old Roman Spa town of Acqui Terme and taste beautiful wines and local delicacies in Le Langhe. Do not worry, these are only some of the activities we have in mind for you.

Benvenuti in Piemonte!

Day 1

Welcome to Piemonte

Are you ready? The city of Turin will be your home for the next few days. Today you will meet your local host and guide throughout this adventure. After settling at your accommodation, you will be going for an included welcome dinner in the heart of the city. As you know by now, this region offers many wonderful things but its food & wine scene definitely are some of the highlights. Enjoy and be ready for tomorrow - Buon appetito!

Day 2

First encounter with your new home

Before venturing to explore the region, you first need to discover your "hometown". Today you will be exploring Turin, and you can expect to see some of its highlights, like the iconic "Mole Antonelliana" (the tallest building in the city), San Lorenzo´s Church, the Dome of Turin, the Palatin Door and the Royal Gardens, and also walk some less known quarters to witness its baroque architecture and sit down for an aperitivo in a charming alleyway. The afternoon will be free for you further explore the city. Take advantage of your local host and get some suggestions for activities (the Egyptian museum is a great idea) and dinner options - do not forget to practice your Italian whilst enjoying your meal!

Day 3

Monte dei Cappuccini and Royal Palace

You cannot leave Turin without going to Monte de Cappuccini. Its view makes it one of the most fascinating places you can visit in Turin; from above you will be able to admire the splendid city landscape, together with the Alps in the background. Do not worry, your host knows the way there, just follow him! Today you can also expect a guided visit to the Royal Palace, the historic home of the Savoy family who from here directed the fate of Turin for over 3 centuries. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is ready to welcome you in its wonderful halls. An included aperitivo will be a good way to talk about this fabulous day in Turin and what is about to come...shall we leave the city?

Day 4

Horsebackriding in Serra Morenica

A 1-hour train ride will take us to the town of Ivrea where our adventure will begin. This journey will take us to the woods where we will follow ancient trade routes, visiting the natural park of the Nonani plateau, along the peaks of the Serra Morenica. Keep in mind we will follow old paths from the Roman and Napoleonic eras, full of stories and myths. We will also stop at the ancient church of S.Rocco from the 17th century and enjoy a typical Piedmontese lunch back at Ivrea. What a day!

Day 5

Truffle Hunting

Before heading to the Langhe tomorrow, we will today learn more about the art of truffle hunting. We will meet a local expert and her dog (today´s rock star) and walk some nearby woods in search of these precious friends. Depending on the season, we will look for either black or white truffles and at the end of the tour, you can buy them at the market price if you wish! The rest of the day is for you to relax, shop, visit and further explore. Remember, your host is full of ideas!

Day 7

 Acqui Terme & farewell

Another train ride will take us this time to Acqui Terme. This fascinating spa town already renowned in Roman times for its steaming waters and set like a rare jewel among vineyards and landscapes was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The imposing remains of the Roman aqueduct that stand out along the river Bormida testify how water has always been the vital element of this city, which offers its visitors an enviable combination of well-being, art, culture, history, gastronomic excellence, Italian charm and hospitality that make it a unique and captivating destination. Tonight and once back in Turin, we will go for one last meal together - Have we saved best for last?

Day 8

Until we meet again

Until we meet again: We hope you loved your time with us. Do not hesitate to ask us for suggestions on how to get back to the airport or make arrangements for your next adventure. Ciao!

Day 6

 Le Langhe Wine Experience

Today we are heading to the heart of Le Langhe (a beautiful hilly area in Piemonte), more precisely to the town of Alba. Apart from its natural beauty, le Langhe is also known for its production of wines; Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto are some of them. A local guide will take us on a wine & food journey where we will be tasting different wines and some delicacies including the truffle of Alba (you are one step ahead when it comes to truffles).
