Rome - Lazio Region
Unveiling Rome & its Surroundings

There is so much to experience in Lazio. Ancient & sacred places that are strongly linked to their historical significance and have left evidence of the Roman Empire and its greatness. Explore with us the villa Gregoriana with its unique views of the Tivoli waterfall. Discover the majestic Regional Natural Park of the Simbruini Mountains and experience the magical atmosphere of some of the oldest monasteries, like San Benedetto, set like a gem in the rock face of Mount Taleo near the town of Subiaco. Practice yoga & meditation in a handpicked location surrounded by pristine nature.

Explore the iconic Trastevere neighbourhood, where we will put all our senses to the test, as we have organized a gastronomic walking tour, tasting different local Roman dishes. After that, we will join a wine-tasting event where the proceeds are donated to an NGO called "Street Child", a foundation that aims to help children from developing countries get an education and a better future.

Welcome to Rome

Day 2

First encounter with your new home

Today you will have your first contact with the city of Rome. Your local host will take you on an orientation walk of the city so you know how to reach all those places you want to visit during your free time. Expect to see both the highlights and little surprises only locals know about. In the afternoon, you will head to one of the most typical neighbourhoods of Rome, Trastevere, where we will have a walking food tour, tasting different Roman dishes and snacks. After that, we will join a wine-tasting event and the proceeds will be donated to "Street Child", an NGO that helps children from developing countries access education and have a better future.

Day 3

Tivoli

The plan today is to get to the Roman/medieval city of Tivoli by public bus, where we will visit the 16th century Villa D'este and after a short break, we will also visit the Villa Gregoriana, from where we will enjoy an amazing view of Tivoli's waterfall. A guided walking tour through Tivoli's historic centre is part of the deal. Later on, we will enjoy a farm tour and dinner at a Holiday Farm (activity engaging animals) close to Tivoli, where children can learn and interact with free-range animals.

Day 4

Subiaco - On the way to Monti Simbruini

Let´s keep exploring. This time, we will move closer to Monti Simbruini, a mountain range that serves as a natural border between the regions of Lazio and Abruzzo. Our goal is to reach, Subiaco (a 50-minute bus ride). This medieval town will take you back in time; from its centre, we will walk to a path in the forest (4 km approx) that will lead us to a natural lake with a waterfall (swimming is possible and lunch is provided) where we can relax. After this short break, we will continue our walk to the San Benedetto monastery, set like a gem in the mountain, this monastery with 1000 years of history is a masterpiece in every single way.

Day 5

Cycle Ancient Rome

Today you will visit The Ancient Appian Way by electric bike. Expect to cross the famous Parco degli Acquedotti, an important biological corridor in Rome's city centre.
The park is a tale of the history of water in Rome and related engineering works, in fact, six ancient Roman aqueducts converge here. We will ride a top-notch e-bike on a smooth 2,300-year-old meadow and relive the history of the great empire, in a unique landscape full of ancient footprints, imperial mansions, statues, tombs, and S. Callisto Catacombs.

Day 7

The hometown of the pasta Amatriciana & farewell

Have you heard about pasta Amatriciana? Well, why not visit its hometown? The town of Amatrice was seriously damaged by an earthquake in 2016 and has not fully recovered. Enjoying a well-made amatriciana pasta would be the best way to indirectly help the community. After an included lunch, we will visit the Amatrice’s Women international house, a non for profit organisation that after the earthquake became a meeting point for local women whose families were physically and/or emotionally damaged by the disaster. Handcrafted souvenirs and sweets are made in order to sustain the organisation and benefit the local community. You will also enjoy some free time to walk the streets of this picturesque town before heading back to Rome. Tonight we will enjoy one more meal together at one of our favourite restaurants - Let´s laugh, talk about our adventure and enjoy!

Day 8

Until we meet again

Until we meet again: We hope you loved your time with us. Do not hesitate to ask us for suggestions on how to get back to the airport or make arrangements for your next adventure. Ciao!

Day 6

 Castelli Romani

Ready? Our first stop will be Albano Laziale from where we will start trekking through the beautiful Castelli Romani Regional Park, during this 7 km walk (3 hours) we will enjoy stunning views of the 2 Roman lakes and we will eventually arrive at the little village of Nemi. On the way back to Rome, we will stop in Ariccia and have dinner in one of its many taverns; time to taste local wine and the typical porchetta! Afterwards, we will train our way back to Rome.
